stock tire
sidewall:4.8in
radius 11.3

circumf:71.1in
revs/mi:891.0

stock tire
sidewall:3.3in
radius 11.7

circumf:73.7in

Speedometer reading with a non stock tire is 3.6% too slow
when your speedo reads 60mph you are actually traveling 62.1mph

its not a scratch its more like a dent and it starts down to the metel and then gos right back starts at quarter panel

So if my speedo is reading wrong can this be sorted or could it still be wheel nuts???

Simple test put your old wheels back on for an hour go for a drive and see if its back to normal if it is you know its cos you have bigger wheels on! If your saying that your top speed is now slower since you have put the wheels on id put money on it not being anything bare the fact you have changed to 17`s.

oh and if you do change the wheels back over please please put the nuts ON as i dont want to feel guilty for your death.

This seems about right now, or does it not, doing a 100mph on your speedo will mean your doing 103.6mph.

This of course doesnt allow for the 2% error of the actually speedo, so it could be 5% out.

Could do...

Just had a look at the pictures of the wheels though and I think I've found your problem!

They're quite spokey, quite a complex design, think the air's getting stuck and it's causing high volumes of drag as you get faster!

Put the Cupra wheels on and see if it solves it, the design is alot more simply and the air just glides past! :D

The worst thing is i've just noticed that there's a similar thread on the other forum too.

I cant believe a thread which started out with 5 stud wheels for a 4 stud car is 5 pages long, and with all the help given, is still going.
