Hi Mo,
Sorry can't post pics yet, still on newbie rules, the area's I found leaks in my Altea are as follows:
Side window weather seals : The seals on the lower edge of the side windows can get mossed up and let loads of water run past and into the inner door workings, these can be easilly removed and scrubbed with soap and water to reduce rain water getting through.
Door cards : If the door cards have ever been off then the seal will be broken, for some reason there is no barrier seal between inner and outer door area's, the water seal is on the mating surface of the door card and will need to be sealed with a suitable sealant when removed.
Cabin Air Intake : The plastic wiper panel can channel leaf debris into this area and cause the water drain channels to block and flood this area, the seal around this plastic housing for the cabin air intake is not very good and water can leak into the pollen fillter housing and then onto passenger side carpet, fidley job but can be sealed up with RTV. Also there will be a blanking plate on the drivers side for oposite hand drive cars, this has the same type seal as the cabin air intake. Engine ecu is also in this area and probably won't like getting wet.
Side Sill Covers - These sill covers are Altea specific and are retained by screws in the wheel arch and plastic guides under the car with 3 piece spring clips and screws on the upper of the sill, the spring clips have a seal underneath which doesn't seam to age too well, seams to be made of foam with a paper backing, clean these off and apply RTV before refitting. (This was main cause of leak on my Altea).
Front Inner Wheel Arch Liner: This area can collect leaf debris and back up the water drain channel from the lower windscreen/wiper panel area, shouldn't really be a
problem but all that stops water getting into the inner sill is a splash guard and the rear of the wheel arch behind the arch liner. (This will cause Altea owners issues if wading in flood water anything over 300mm deep will enter the car).
Front Wiper Wind Guards : There is a foam seal on the upper end of the wiper wind guard, was OK on my Altea but looks like it could cause issues if incorrectly fitted.
Thanks
