Hi Blobby,

The handbook doesn't list a separate fuse for windscreen washers, or at least not in the version I'm looking at. I've got fuse #28 (30 amp, left-side dash panel fuse box) for the wiper motors but also fuse #1 (30 amp, left part of the fuse box under the bonnet) for windscreen wipers.

No idea why two fuses are listed for apparently the same thing; somebody else may be able to enlighten us both! I run a Freetrack, so can't check, as the fuse layout is different. Possibly worth checking both the above fuses, if you haven't already.

The copy handbook I'm looking at is available here if you don't have a copy already.

hi rich thanks for the reply, ive just sorted it, its a seprate fuse for the wipers, that's under the bonnet. I went to the fusebox under the dash and went to every empty space in the fuse box with one fuse and tried the washers till I got it, don't ask what number it is, I don't know how you are supposed to see them, I had a magnifying glass on them and still couldn't see the numbers, but all sorted now, oh and the 2006 version of the manual is totally different to 2005, thanks again.

Good to hear it's fixed, even with my not-so-helpful help! I find a crystal ball to be quite useful when playing the old "guess the fuse" game!..

Fuses again

[:@]The fuses are a nightmare.

Just wired up the 7 pin towbar socket and while testing, the stop lamp fuse blew, not really surprising considering the total current through the 5 Amp fuse is now 7 Amps. But could I find the blown fuse, no way! :wtf:
The handbook lists it as fuse 23(5A) but there appears to be no numbering. There are 3 rows of 8 small fuses so it should be next but one to one end of either the top or bottom row. NOt so[:@] Been through all the 5Amp fuses, with some difficulty, as the removal tool is missing, and not been able to find a blown fuse.

Will try the others tomorrow, weather permitting, when my patience may have improved.

Any help would be most appreciated, thanks,
Falcon7

Sorry to hijack and bring this thread back to life. I have just purchased an 06 Altea 1.6 petrol for my wife. Only issue I have is that the clock and the trip reset every time the car is started. It's quite frustrating and I'm hoping it might just be a fuse or something simple. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi guys, I've searched everywhere here and googled, but no luck.
Trying to identify fuses on my 2005 Altea 2.0 TDI AZV stylance. Looks like the previous owner could have mixed them.
I've managed to find Altea 2.0 tdi BKD fuse diagram, (engine is the same AZV/BKD ), but the BKD diagram doesn't actually match what I've got in the fuse boxes in my car.

TIA,
Maciek
