Had my freetrack TDi for almost a year now, its great to drive - average mpg 42-44, but you can get it lower if you hoof it.
The power band on the tdi is narrow and it takes some getting used to - not raw power, but it pulls like a train.
The dpf thing is a PITA, but a 15min jaunt up the motorway sorts that out. As for the practicals, loads of room and comfort and just £250 a year to insure!
