Alarm Red Light

Jumped into the car on sunday, so i could turn it round and clean the wheels easier as i was too close to the neighbours property. All was fine until i turned the key, an audible alarm sounded similar to the low fuel indication, but it was the temp guage, and the red light was flashing? what was that all about? the car was cold? no water near or anywhere round the bonnet area, still just washing the inside of the rims.any ideas?

I had this in my 'old' LC TDI MY04. Took it to dealer under warranty and it was a faulty sensor. Loads of threads on here about it.

Thanks m8 I shall get it changed next time its in for a service, it has been just the once so far fingers crossed. i really dont need to much going wrong at the moment.
