Hi,

Recentlly got car door opening manually by fitting new 'paddle' to key lock barrel, but now have the problem of alarm not being disabled when opening the door with key and needing to press remote to disable it. Im waiting for a nice day to take off the interior door trim and have a look. Any suggestions on causes and what to look for welcomed.

I drive a mk4 ibiza tdi

Cheers.

thanks gchappell,

I found this out a few days ago going through my mates vw Polo handbook, where the alarm gives you 15 seconds to start ignition , ibiza's are a bit shorter i think, should of posted,.

No good still, the key still sets of the alarm.

This goes for the master key as well, the only thing that works properly is the key fob!

This isn't normal is it?

Hi there, having read the above what is written is correct

to unlock, turn key once or twice
get into the car within 15secs and start ignition if you don't the ignition will block and alarm will be activated

If don't succeed try, try again!
