Ok temperature is getting colder, dropped to about 0.5c last night, and since then, the aircon won't switch on.

When I usually press the windscreen button, it usually switches the aircon on.

It doesn't I just got the symbol that flashes up then goes away.

Pressing the aircon button does the same.

Does it not work when it's cold?

For reference manual says;

"At low outside temperatures (less than +5C) the refrigeration group (compressor) is automatically switched off, and may not even be switched on manually."

(air conditioning - 2.89)

In case you're wondering it's 'cos the condensed water might freeze in the outlet pipe (in the footwell), plug the outlet and knacker the air con.
