Airbag Warning Light

Anyone else had any problems with the airbag warning light coming on?

Just got into the car and noticed the light comes on whilst it does its system check then goes off for a second but then comes on and stays on.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to probable cause or solution.

Guess I might need to drop it into the dealer, (anyone know if Newbury Seat is open on a Sunday?)

Any help or advice much appreciated, all I can think of is that it has been sat in the sun all day and the steering hub was hot when I got into the car - but I find that hard to believe for a Spanish car - surely they sit in the sun most days !

I had an airbag light come on in my FR a few weeks ago - it was traced to a loose connector from one of the crash sensors - no problems since then (touchwood)

Dealer replaced airbag ignitor sensor (seems to live under the drivers seat somewhere). Bloody stupid place to keep it I think ..

It could be the ECU which controls all airbags and etc.
I had a minor water damaged Golf R and airbag light was showing, apart from airbag light car was spot on. So replaced the ECU which was full of corrosion and airbag light disappeared.
Also costed about £40 for ECU and replaced it myself.

If all diagnostics and etc don't work, try replace airbag ECU.

My airbag problems are back. After having mine hardwired in January, I though the airbag saga over. But the light kept appearing and whilst the fault usually cleared first time, it reached the point where it now does not clear anymore. So I'm having a new passenger airbag for £426. As it's an MOT failure now there is no choice but to get it done.

I've just had the garage rewire my passenger seat today to try & fix my warning light. They advise that this fixed 95% of all problems… but not mine.

Hoping the switch that they're going to fit tomorrow fixes it, otherwise it's a £900+ bill for a new bag… unless anyone know anywhere else to get a cheaper (legitimate) one from?

Where did you get yours from, as I've been quoted £900+ for a new one!
