It was some time ago and, if I recall correctly, a shade over £100. I had thought that with the sensor in my hand I could simply buy another vag sensor with the same p/n but it transpired (to my cost) there are further p/n letters or numbers that aren't printed on the sensor label - the airbag module and sensors all need to have the same 'invisible' code. There's also a danger that a 2nd hand one has already been affected by water ingress. There's no visible signs whether the sensor is faulty or not. My sensor would be ok for a few days, then it would trigger the warning light on the dash again. Because the passenger airbag won't deploy in an accident with a faulty sensor I decided my passengers safety is worth more than £100-ish, and I bought a new one from Lister's (who were very helpful and knowledgeable) and it arrived the next day.
