Ok, got in my car this morning and the outside temp was reading -7.. hmmm its not that cold! anyway my air conditioning wouldnt turn on, would that be because it is saying -7? And its too cold for it to turn on.. And A/C only works when the outside temp is warm/hot??

Faulty temp sensor in mirror?? what u guys reckon??

Erm maybe a silly question but why would you want to be cold with a/c when its -7 outside?

the temperature indication in the dash is just to warn you of ice.

or do you mean the climate control, to warm you up?

check your car manual.
A/C does not work when temp is below 3degrees (I think).
I believe its to protect the a/c components from freezing over and damaging.

Personally you dont need aircon on this time of year anyway.

yeah faulty wing mirror sensor, had same prob with mine, was reading -7 in the summer! and no aircon would work. £20 down at seat and all was fixed. new part will need soldering in.

Does this mean that -7 is the lowest temp these sensors and computer can handle then? Just interested thats all, wondered if it could read less than -7 for very cold contries etc...

yeah can be done yourself, just need to take the mirror unit off carefully. Same positioning as the 206 as well and they are also known to go wrong. you may also need to take th edoor card off to get to the connection as well. I believe some of it is to do with the connections corroding due to exposure.

Maybe thats why SEAT put them back behind the front bumper on the mk4 again.

Gotta take the door card off??? i dont fancy doing that, anyone know how much stealers would charge for the part and fit it?? If i start taking the inside apart, things wont go back together right and ill have bits left over lol..
