he said theres no leaks and all fine just dont work and they cant repair it there

the diagnostic then came up with no fault but still no air con :(

he said it might be a fuse or electrical fault??? any ideas people:blink:

Any help appreciated :D:D:D

The biggest problem in this scenario is that you took it to kwik fit. Those guys know sod all and will have you replace the whole car to fix a squeaky wiper blade if they had their way. Wish I could be more of a help but good luck mate

they should of checked for faults and operation of the aircon before regassing it. As above really don't ever take your car to kwik fit, not even for a free MOT like i did. most common fault in my experience if theres plenty of gas in it, is the high pressure switch, find a decent garage that specializes in vag's.

its a switch on the air con which reads pressure/temp of the refrigerant if its faulty it will cause the air con to not work and sometimes blows a fuse. Although there are other things it could be. look at end of dash behind cover for fuses (drivers side).

Mines also stopped this afternoon :( can't hear the compressor fire up. Looked in the manual but can't see what fuse it would be

From memory when the compressor clutch goes faulty you get a pressure sensor error due to the compressor not creating pressure.
When mine was done under warranty they replaced the pressure switch first but made no difference.
The new compressors have a different pulley setup which is much more reliable.
Have a search for aircon compressor failure on mk2 Leon and from the pictures you'll know which type you have

Although yours could be low on refrigerant or something else

Yesp, High Pressure Switch thats what was wrong with mine, about £130 fitted by the dealer including a regas last month.

Find an Aircon Specialist. I know so many Dealers and Garages (inc me) that sub out to a specialist. I have wasted hours myself trying to regas vehicles and trace faults to call in a specialist and they find it in minutes because thats all they do!!

Above all it is sooo nice to turn on your Air con and it is Icy cold and smells clean and fresh

I found out my air con wasn't working after SEAT checked the compressor and it turns out a part of it snapped off (the clutch part they called it). Could be another reason?

The early MK2's aren't good at all. Nothing but issues with mine such fuel pump, cam follower, cam shaft, air con, coilpacks. All common problems SEAT know about, yet wont do a lot to help?

There should always be pressure in the system, when the cars not running i look for circa 5 bar +, although just because it has good pressure doesn't mean there's sufficient refrigerant in it.

luckily ill do any repair work myself and get the parts on trade! but its hassle knowing that its "common" problems and the dealers take it to their advantage of making money from it! certainly when you know how little it costs at times!

im hoping it just a case of a new swtich and a regass which will be of minimal costs to myself.
ill check the system tomorrow, for leaks. pressure and gas levels and worry about getting parts in on monday if needs be as its my only day off for a while then!

im sure though when i first got the car, put the air con on the fan (engine / rad fan) did not kick in, or if it did it didnt go crazy like it does now! it drones out the radio in the cabin! fml.
