Air Con Problem

In the last week my air con has stopped blowing out cold air. I have a 2002 tdi Seat Leon SE.

Can someone tell me what this might be:

• The air con unit powers up.
• Rev's don't drop when air con is turned on.
• Gas still releases from valve

Prob nothing but I noticed a rattle just behind the centre console blowers just before air con went although this could just be a leaf!?!?

Not a genius when it comes to cars but am trying to get a diagnosis b4 meeting the stealers. Could it be the air con pump or compressor???

I have just had the same prob with my 52 plate Leon. I could hear the compressor kick in when I selected aircon, so it wasnt that. In the end it just needed a regas, because it had lost 90%of the gas. It cost me £40+vat at APS, Brackley. Judging by the age of your car, it will most likely be that. If the revs dont drop, but the compressor kicks in, the belt could be slack, or snapped (just an idea)

Got air con refilled and he said the air con compressor had gone.

Can anyone tell me the part no I need so I can get one cheaper through the breakers yard.

Anyone with a fitting guide too?
Local garage said it would take 3.5 hours to replace, and i think i should be able to fit it myself.
Parts were £146 plus vat
