Got in the car yesterday FR TFSI and the temp was around 18 degress so thought a nice face full of cold air would help...sounds like the motor is spooling up but warm air is pumped out. Obviuosly set the climate control to LO but still nothing. The car is coming up to 3 yrs old is it like my last mototr that needs re-gasing ??

Any help would be great as summer is just round the corner.. ummm !!

I had the same problem after I picked up my 58-plate FR TDI last week. It went back to the dealer, who said they found a "sticking valve" in the aircon system, and re-gassed it as well. It's now working fine :)

I seem to remember reading somewhere that it is advisable to run air-con once a month anyway, can't remember if it was for operational/maintenance reasons, health reasons or both now.

It is necessary to run the air-con at least once a month otherwise bacteria can form in the pipes and it also keeps the system running smoothly.

If the car is 3 years old and never been re-gassed it is likely to be the problem.
