hi, my air box on my leon is smoothed and drilled, the car has a years warranty, got it from seat. will the air box being like this affect the warranty? does any body have a air box for sale with no holes?

Did the car come like this when you bought it or have you done it? If the dealer has supplied the car with a drilled airbox then you could argue that they have to honour the warranty because it is still in the same state as it was sold to you, question is will they believe you when they try and wiggle out of warranty work. That said if the warranty claim is to do with rear suspension then a drilled airbox isn't going to have any influence of it so you will be fine.

post an add in the wanted section mate;)

My car ended up with a nuked turbo, pretty sure SMC wouldn't have coughed up if the dv and modded airbox were still fitted.

if you bought it from dealer like this, depending on how long youve had it you need to prove that it was like this (assuming there is an issue). if you got the car on finance and they wont cover it by warranty your statutory rights are with the finance company and so you claim off them.

if you did it...
the general consensus is that if you keep up with servicing your warranty will only be affected if the fault in question can be proved to be in relation to your modification. i.e. turbo blew up cause it was collecting filth from unfiltered air. so while you have warranty save your pennies and do your mods when out of warranty.

please note i read the paperwork relating to your query recently but i'm talking from memory. but it gives you a starting point.
