Hello awesome people,

I'm looking to buy a heated windshield for my Formentor (2021, 1.5tsi). Has anybody done this before? If so, would you kindly:
1) help me with a recommendation of a premium aftermarket product?
2) tell me if the purchase was worth it?
3) tell me if there are any downsides to this?

Thanks!

Hi,
I've read someone doing it on a Skoda Superb Mk3.
It means a lot of work to install the right wires, fuse and control panel... I would say it is feasible, but one thing to consider is insurance. I don't know how romanian insurances work, but if you need to replace your new heated windshield because of stonechips, It seems highly probable, that your insurance will only refund you only the amount of the original (non heated) windshield. In such a case, replacement may cost you a quite significant amount of money...

So to answer properly your questions.
1) I would recommend one of the OEM brand to be sure it's compliant with Cupra / VAG standards.
2) It highly depends on :
- The climat where you live
- If your car is in a garage for the night
- How keen your are on ice-scrapping 😁 .
3) See above about insurance and related costs.

Absolutely love the dedication and time you put in your response. Thanks for the help, you convinced me to stick to OEM 😁
