I found this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/182166735313?item=182166735313&viewitem=&vxp=mtr

It's a retro-fit 4 pot Brembo kit for a MK7 Golf R 2015 onwards. Fronts only. After paying import it would work out around 1800 sterling. Doesn't state the disc diameter on the advert. I suspect this could possibly be the same kit as the sub 8? You'd need to contact the seller for more details, perhaps measurements to see if it would fit? 'May not work with your factory wheels', possibly means needs 19"s? As in wouldn't fit the standard wheel.

My current thinking, if I were to upgrade my front brakes would be this:

https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-...-audi-ttrs-calipers-to-340-or-345mm-oe-discs/

I'd then source the cheapest, dirtiest calipers that I could and have them refurbished by someone trusted (as opposed to an eBay seller doing it quickly and cheaply to help move them on).

Stick in some decent pads and you've got a very decent set up there for about a grand.

I would, however, like to see the kit in person and give it a good once over to ensure good pad to disc contact, adequate wheel clearance, etc.

Cool. I just had thought the US import could potentially have been an easy answer, an attempt to be helpful. Brembo aren't permitted to sell the callipers separately in the EU, due to contractual reasons with VAG. Seems the TTRS brakes are the same as the sub 8 kit, so your proposal is a good one, if you can find some worth reconditioning. Good luck! Personally I'd sooner work with new stuff and a kit specifically designed for the platform, spending a few extra quid. Brakes is one area splurging your budget on is wise. Better that than getting a bucket of power and being apprehensive about deploying it.

Bargain of the century.

Sere quoted me £1k for the Sub8 kit. I'm saving up now.

Really? That's a fantastic price. Individually ordering the parts comes to over a grand & a half. You got a bargain there mate! Enjoy!

I wonder are Seat clearing stock out as the Cupra 300 is coming? Could it point to more powerful brakes again? Almost seems like selling at perhaps break even really.

For £1k I'm tempted to order them myself and whack it on the credit card. Already got the side skirts sorted...

Do they come with fitting kit?

Yeah they did, just waiting on the body shop now. Dealer wanted about £800 fitted, I managed to get some skirts from Seres gathering dust for £250, and the painting and fitting is costing me a little under £250.
