Hey all,

I`ve Just bought my 05 plate gun metal grey cupra r, but Im needing some friendly / helpful advice on what parts to buy and where from.

1.Im after either a full set of seat covers or just a drivers seat cover that are obviously air bag friendly, where`s best to get these from ?
2. An all weather outdoor car cover
3.If the windows are misting up inside, is this the common symptom that the doors seals need replacing, and if so how do you check which ones, and wheres the best place to buy them from ?
4. What grade oil do you guys / gals normally use ? ( Ive just put in 0w30, but a SEAT dealer told me they just use 5w30 across all the cars in the workshop )
5.Whats the best make for front brake pads to go for ? ( Ive seen mintex and brembo on ebay for around the £28 - £38 delivered mark, is this good ?? )
6.what bullbs would someone recommend replacing the standard headlight bulbs for as they are not the brightest in the world ?

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

If there is water on the door sill after rain then your door seals need doing, there is a guide in the faq section above

As for headlamp bulb i would go for hid's 4300k or 6000k,can be had on ebay for £30

hi mate, welcome to the forum

4. 0w30 will be fine, as long as it says meets VAG specs 502.xx 505.xx etc on the bottle
5. for outright performance most people recommend the ferodo ds2500 pads if you can justify the price, the brembos that you're looking at at that price probably aren't great. I'm using brembo SPORT pads which are really good but cost about £120 a pair
6. If you don't want HIDs (great visibility for you, but blinding for anyone else, plus the fact every chav and his pitbull have them down here in bristol) then halfords extreme brilliance or osram nightbreakers are both much better than standard

Hi and welcome.

I went for pagid pads. They are a good price and bite really well, also went for 5000k hids which don't dazzle look similar 2 good white bulbs but have a better spread of light. Just make sure you get the H7r bulbs which are anti- dazzle.
Good luck..

Neil.

The damp window issue could be the seal around the door panel.
My drivers door leaked, but only onto the door sill, not actually onto the carpet. Just take the panels off and look at the metal panel below. A seal runs around it and normally starts to break down, degrade near the bottom...
