hey folks, i asked about getting the aero front bumper on my cupra the other week but i was told that it would not fit... apart from the headlight washers is there anything else that might prevent me from fitting the front aero bumper???

all help is much appreciated

no, there in the headlamp unit arnt they.

I was told this by the stealer when I asked about the aero kit back in october, the xenon's motors protrude down into the bumper further, so not an easy job to resolve for the average stealers bodyshop...

Personally, I think that they couldn't be arsed to take the job on, seeing as they refused to fit my german grille and my greek spoiler, all they wanted was to sell the car, nothing else....

Owen,

There is a red Cupra in Speccy Cars showroom in Aberdeen just now with the Aero kit. It can be done, however it would ruin the look of your car. I would seriously consider not doing it.

As you can gather I am not at all a fan of the Aero kit though.

I agree :)

honestly, i think the front bumper is ok but i must say i dispise the rear bumper... if only i could get the front to look lower, the same as the rest of the car i mean

The Aero bumper will not achieve the lower look. Some lads have however fitted an LCR splitter to their Cupra/FR and it looks good.

I also hate the Aero rear bumper, but I hate the Aero front bumper as much.

im sure there are other models apart from the cupra which have the bi-xenon options with the aero kit. Sounds like bollocks to me.

well i have seen the aero bumper but i think it does make the front look a bit lower, i just think my car looks funny at the moment because the car is low at the back and from the side but a bit high front the front view... as for the lcr front splitter i am not to sure about that... looks a bit dodgy on the new style leon IMHO

To be honest, yours is the nicest MK2 Leon I have seen, and I think it would ruin it if you put on the Aero bumpers.

The side is no lower than the front, and the rear is def no lower than the front. I like your car so much, I am seriously considering the side skirts and re-doing the wheels a darker colour :)

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but I def won't be going down the aero bumper route.

ok, i think you have persuided me along with a few others, i think it looks slightly better than the standard bumper, but i dont know if it is £300 worth nicer... to be honest i think i would be better off spending the money on wheel spacers + twintercooler... i might wait and see if seat bring out a splitter or cupra bumper in the next year...

erm i am not sure who will be servicing my car but more than likely it will be car services. if i had a problem with it i would just take it to another garage for warrenty work... when i got the remap i asked what if any mods Jim would recommend and he said he would only put an intercooler on it, but is not a necessity...
but i would rather be safe than sorry.
