Aerial removal

OK I've seen a few posts here on this, and am confoozed!
Managed to snap the original whip antenna on the garage door (doh), now can't unscrew the damned thing to replace it. I don't want to get the housing thing that's attached to the roof off, just the antenna that unscrews so far, and won't unscrew no more!

I assume it's some sort of anti-theft thing, but how do I thieve my own antenna to put a new one on!?

The bottom end of it is like a nail head shape in a hole that's just too small for it to be removed.

Just give it a sharp tug and it will come out. I would hold the housing with you other hand.

That's what the bottom of it looks like. Imagine that in a hole that it's a little too small for it to come out of. Just give it a tug.

I did this reluctantly because I wanted to fit a stubby, however whilst I managed to get the OEM aerial off, with a bit of wiggling and twisting, I noticed the thread is really long with a nail like end (as previously mentioned). Just make sure that the replacement has a long enough thread as I ended up binning a stubby because the stubby thread was to short and wouldn't reach the thread hole. Hope this makes sense.

Weird, what stubby aerial were you using? There's plenty on here that use the Civic aerial and I've put the C3 aerial on mine.

TBH honest cheap universal cr*p costing £12. It just would not reach. Have you a pic of yours?
