i've just swapped my forge actuator back to a standard one, but i'm only seeing about 18psi peak on a K03s as opposed to the 22-23psi it should be spiking at, jabba said to just wind it out a bit untill i get to 22psi. which way do i need to wind it out? is it the nut on the left as you look at it? it's really annoying me now. can anyone help? thanks.

I was thinking of starting a simular thread - as looking at my actuator, it looks like its been moved as I have two threads which look like where it use to be.

iirc, to increase pressure.....adjust so you have more thread showing past the end of the penny valve arm (cant remember the correct name). Failing that, adjust it one way....test it and if you lose boost, adjust it the other way.

So you need to move the arm towards the top the actuator rod.....

Just need something clearing up, if nick is not hittin the correct PSI levels, and he moves the arm up, is he ensuring the wastegate is more closed or more open...

apologies of wording but couldnt think of better way of putting it

if you were to wind down the nut and get this sort of limp mode/overboost - would that car have trouble meeting requested boost?

when winding down the rod and putting too much pre load on the actuator - which way does this lean towards on the wastegate - open or close

thanks

Putting pre-load on the actuator will make it harder to open hence it'll make more boost. To tell if it's having trouble making the requested boost you need to log the car with vag-com and check the N75/WG Duty (Block 118) and requested/delivered (Block 115) boost.

ive done all the logging fella, im just at my ends trying to figure out why i keep getting posistive deviation error message -

Hence me looking in to the wastge/turbo to see if that could throw up the error - So going to try and raise the arm on the actuator a couple of threads to see what happends

seeing a vag techy next sat so fingers crossed.

Nope - working 12 hour shift on sat and sun -
2 weeks ago, It was currently sitting on about 11 threads so i moved it down to 13 - but didnt fix problem - so i put it back to its original thread number (11) - as this was where is was when the car was working fine -

but ive noticed that on the threads 9-10, they are dark in colour which indicates they must have been there at some point - so will bring arm up to that thread and see what happends -

and just realised that question wasnt meant for me...lol.....

How did you get on nick?

well spose it could have been meant for both of you really?lol. if its a standard actuator and has been adjusted before then thats not right. you cant fool the ecu it just wont let you. you reckon the owner before you had a bit of a fiddle?

If it helps i can check to see how many threads mine has so you can compare?

its a strange one - as my friend owned it before and he never had any problems with it - he "said" he never fiddled with the car as the only problem he had was the MAF -

When i brought it off him, the car was running perfect for about a week - then this problem occurred - the number of threads apprantly should be about 13 from what ive heard - but if you get a moment, that would be great -

its abit of a mystery but somethings not right - if i bring the rod to where the original markings were and the car works fine - then will be having words -

also heard the tuning company might have tampered with the actuator to increase boost further - which is not a good idea - but dont know whole story so cant point fingers yet.
