adjustable front splitter & Canards

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyones thought about this too? I need a bit more downforce on the front end as it starts to let slip a bit on track when exiting the apex. Been thinking about an adjustable front splitter and some Canards to help stick it to the road.

Has this been done before, if so - where did you get the bits from / do you have any dimensions or techy drawings I can get them made from?

:) thank you

Andy

I thought aerodynamic downforce was speed based, and therefore at it's lowest on the corner?

I can see you've done the whole weight reduction thing, are you fairly well balanced now or is the nose a little heavy?

(Sorry I couldn't really help with your actual question)

yes its speed based - sorry I didnt mention that. My issues only occur during a sweeping corner at above 70mph. lower speeds and tighter corners its fine - which is why I put it down to down-force.

Its as well balanced as i can get. it doesnt understeer at all, its just as you lay on the power outa the high speed corner the nose starts to slip out a bit. my logic = downforce and get that sucked down!

I have a company who can whittle the bits up with me, but just if its been done before itll be a great help

Maybe try one of the BTCC front splitters? They look a lot more useful than the OEM splitter.

Have you had the car corner weighted??
What brakes and wheels do you run, unsprung weight wise?
What kind of camber do you run as i had mine nearly 3 degrees negative on the front and turn in and at low speeds was ok but higher speeds made the car unstable
Are you still using standard cupra geometric parts, ie wishbones, hubs?? as upgrading to LCR front will improve geometry

Camber is what id LOVE! but really struggling for my LC! :( hints and tips apart from £300 top adjusters for the front would be great :)

Cupra R/S3 wishbones i guess allow just over 2 degrees of adjustment in the slots per wheel
You can run much lower without needing new bushes every 2 months and ARB and driveshaft move furhter apart the lower ou go instead of closer
