Hi,
I'm unsure if a lot of you remember my missing boost problem. Will at P-Torque kindly checked the ecu programming again on the map and couldn't find a fault but uploaded another map he did for another Ibiza which was proven on a rolling road. I put the ecu back in and sadly only saw a minor increase.
After the original remap i went from a standard 8/9psi to a 10/11psi. The map was requesting 18psi. The new map requests 21psi peak like Revo but I now see 12/13psi WOO HOO
A couple of mechanics have ruled out boost leaks
I've changed N75 valve and logged MAF which seemed alright.
Checked DV.
Wondered about blocked cat but it recently passed MOT emissions.
All I was left with was still a possible leak somewhere, actuator, or cracked turbo even though it sounds fine.
I saw an ex-Ibiza Cupra owner who looked at the actuator and said it was wound in too far and asked if it'd been touched. I said no.
From the end of the rod to the first nut there are 17 threads, to which he said his used to be on 11 as he'd experimented loads with his as it had had a new engine. He also said that all other Cupras he'd looked at were between 11 and 13 threads. We wound it back out to 11 threads. I made my way home. Pickup was very slow and boost was down. I wound it back in a bit more to 13 threads to which pickup was better and boost was back to 12psi. I decided to put it back to where it was originally at 16/17 threads which is nearly as far is it goes on the bar. The car is back to boosting harder again at 13psi but still missing my boost.
If my actuator is faulty, would it be able to manage that extra 1 or 2 psi between the two different maps i.e. requesting 18 and 21psi ???
Maybe my actuator is weak and has been wound in previous to my ownership. Car was only 2 years old when I bought it and i've had it 3 years)???
If it's not the actuator at all and there is a leak somewhere, will be turbo work the same amount sucking the same amount of air through the intake giving good MAF readings? I'm unsure how it works.
I'm very confused!
Can anyone take photos of their actuators for me out of interest??
