Accuracy of build estimates

Asked a question of seat UK on Twitter relating to the time for factory to dealer and they replied today saying 25 weeks.
Jesus wept.
I know I'm not in a position to put an order in at the moment but still.

The Leon cupra 280 looks a fantastic car but I'm not sure if I want to wait 6 months from date of order.

The brochures say factory orders are a 12 weeks minimum if i rememeber correctly. There is obviously exceptions but still.

Yeah, 12 weeks is a lot. But they put that to cover lots of possible issues I suppose.
But for the estimate to be double that.

It's making me think what other cars to look at.

I've been told that the dealer has had notification that the car should be with them Friday or Monday. I'm guessing yours can't be too dissimilar.

Just had confirmation my car will be with the dealer by Monday. Are you sure we havent ordered from the same dealer ha!? I think ill be picking up next saturday (13th)

Mine arrived this morning at the dealership, I've agreed to pick it up on Sunday. Now to find all my paperwork!!

So my Build Week 20 is on ship and on route to UK port according to dealer.

Happy it's on it's way and when estimated but slightly disappointed I have not benefitted from a MY16.

My Scirocco benefitted from new toys by being close to MY change so still hoping especially after seat and wheel issues........

The only thing the dealer has mentioned that is a bit different to what I was expecting was it comes with Cupra carpet mats rather than the standard mats now.

All will be revealed on Sunday.

Dealer Informed my SC FR 184 is built and at the port in Spain ( I presume Spain ). Says 2 weeks to get to the Dealer in Ireland, is that about right? Just want to time the sale of my current car. Its been a long wait .

Sounds about right, depending on route of the boat. Mine was approx two weeks to kent and transporter to essex.
They are made close to barcelona, in Martorell. Then catch the boat from barcelona port

Interesting about the Cupra mats, if you look at the photo of the boot on my ST Cupra thread and zoom in, you can see the mats in their VW Audi SEAT Skoda packaging. They appear black with grey edging/white stitching - similar to those fitted in Audi S3, are these the Cupra mats your dealer is referring to?

I like that a lot. If I were ordering now I would choose that combo especially since that paint is now FOC.
