AC symbol won't go when on demist

Can someone clarify if this is correct.

Set the car to demist and the AC symbol comes on Automatically and you press the AC button and it won't go from the screen !! Is this correct ??

If so is the aircon actually on seeing that it is only 3 degrees outside or is it just showing it on the screen as I didn't notice if the engine note dropped and was fiddling with the button trying to get rid of the AC symbol !!

I get that sometimes, just adjust the air speed and temp, and you should be able to turn the AC off, but i wouldnt expect it to come on at tht temp anyway.

When you say set to demist, you mean, putting the heaters on to the windscreen yeah?

I dont think it will come on with outside temp that low.

aircon will probably demist the windscreen quicker anyway

Mine comes at low temps aswell...other night it was about 4 degress, and whacked the heaters on and the AC comes on - not really an issue as it does turn off when i press it - just can forget sometimes

I was having the same issue a few nights ago. Ive not tried since. It just would not let me turn the AC off when in windscreen mode.

Mine does eaxctly the same and I can't turn it off, it's probably a feature! Having A/C on does keep the windows from steaming up and clears them a lot quicker.....

i just stick mine half way between floor and screen - sorts the A/C prob

I've worked out what it is...

When you demist the windscreen if the engine is not up to 90 degrees you can't turn off the AC. Then when it reaches 90 you can turn it off !!
