AC light flashing?

My AC symbol keeps flashing when i put the blowers on, I know its supposed to be if its below 5 degrees it shuts it down hence the flashing but its 14 today! Any ideaS!!!????

thought i'd dig this out rather than start a new thread (and to prove the search function does work) mine started flashing today and wondered why? was bloody cold though!!!

Usually flashes to show there is a problem with the system (most commonly low pressure... so it needs re-gassing)

been on a long journey today and unless the heater was set to high there was not heat at all, just cold air! then when on high the temp gauge kept dropping halfway between 60-90. i thought this was because it was so cold but id have thought the heater would work even if the ac needed re-gas or is it all part of the same system????
