ABS coming on when braking lightly

First of all well done on keeping the forum going. Its always answered my issues before.. but now its a tricky question.

I have a 55 plate Leon FR Tdi which started being funny about two weeks ago (and its not making me laugh type funny).

Well heres the issue..

When coming to a slow stop (say 5mph etc) I apply the brakes lightly and the abs (i think) kicks back the pedal. The pedal sort of judders like the abs is coming on.

I have had it into the dealer and it showed up no fault on the diagnostic machine. However, on the road test when he was braking lightly at a junction it done the pedal thing! Its due to have it brakes taken apart to see if anything is stuck in there which could be causing this issue. (Expensive!)

Has anyone else ever encountered this? Or got any ideas as to what can be up with it?

your ABS sensors will be covered in crap, get the jetwash in there, or if you're feeling like doing a proper job, remove the discs & get in there with a rag.

Ok it turned out to be the following..

1 . The orginal sensor which was replaced to correct the problem was incorrect.
2. Something called the relocater hub (maybe- sounds dubious??) was also broken.
3. JEt was didnt work. I paid 10 quid for jet was at Morrisons (Had some very shiny wheels afterwards though!)
4. Having fixed this there seemed to be another inherant problem with an air gap(??) . I shall be more specific when I get the car back.

I ahve reported this to SEAT. I bought the car in Jan 07 and this is when the original 102 point (mythical) check should have been done.

So... its your abs sensor most likely. Or in my case one abs sensor different to the other 3!

The final line was this.

Turned out my car hadnt quite been built as expected!!

After stripping the hub they found the wheel bearing hadnt quite been pushed in enough. This caused abnornal readings.

So this was pushed in (Requiring several tonnes of Pressure!) by the garage and all has been well so far.

I have reported this to SEAT customer service. Hopefully this is a one off fault!!
