You will fall so in love with this car - I't will shake you!

Just driven it at 130 MPH, with so much power left, but not much road! Its like being on a rollercoaster, but having the control! Oh Woooooo!

I love my Cupra R to bits, second on my list after my wife!

The car is so cool - I am totally in love with it! So if you thinking of getting one - well its worth every penny in terms of the goose pimples you get and the satisfaction, smile on your face - WOW - SEAT, WOW!

Mate im with you there on every word you say!! also took mine to simliar speeds. not to be repeated but you have to try once see what the beast can do!!

Owned mine for only a month now!! so so so pleased with it.. :funk:

What a car..

Addictive is definitely the right word. I managed to last 2 weeks after seeing my first MY03 LC before getting one. I then managed nearly 2 years before getting the LCR. Even now I pat myself on the back for lasting so long before getting one. I know they're getting on a bit now in terms of design, but they really are great value cars. Plus I like the fact that there's a bit of old-school turbo lag and back-to-basics handling / suspension.

I have owned mine since new, so it is 3.5yrs old now, done 110K miles in it, and I know it is probably time to get rid of it, but I just can't bring myself to part with it. I have been and test driven new cars, and much more expensive ones, but none compare when I get back in the LCR after the test drive. Things like build quality and the general quality of the interior make no comparison against the new cars I have tried, but the engine has so much get up and go kick in the pants every time. I am beginning to think that the only way I will ever see it go, is if something beyond my control happens to it.

yeah but imagine the same feeling, same feeling of speed and the smugness of 55mpg. Thats what the TDi makes you feel like:p :p

Just put a deposit down on one - going from an Ibiza 1.4 (that has 65bhp) to the LCR will be fun to say the least. The test drive was god damn awesome.

Can't wait :p

By who? The Police? They couldn't give a **** mate; they've got far better things to do than watch a forum. I know, my best mate is a copper, and he doesn't care (unless he's in his Police Patrol vehicle and sees you driving like that!). In fact, he was at my house yesterday on route to France & Spain on his Blade... so he himself likes speed :D And I took him out in my standard LC, got it to a ton pretty dam quick, and he loved it.

Great stuff, that's all I need to know about traffic coppers - backs up everything I've ever said about them... ;)

I got 140 Mph out of my R, before I backed off. And I will NEVER go that speed again.

I get worried around 90 Mph now, and with good reason with all the dodgy drivers and police about.

From your plate, you don't by any chance work in Feltham do you.

A black LCR with grooved disks ???

wahaaay, a spotted, yes do work in that area, you seen me then!

I sometimes work in the same building as you. Next time outside, look for a silver LCR.

Nice brakes by the way.

I recentrly drove to Bahrain from here, a 3 hour drive. 220 - 230 kph all the way ... *grin*

i did have to fill up twice on the way, though, and on the way back 1 tank lasted nearly all the way at a more restrained 150-160 kph

well over the speed limit then ;)

Brakes are Bill's specials, normal Brembo discs but he adds the grooves, just a shame the caliper laquer is peeling. I have seen your motor and wondered who it belonged to. If you ask security they will probably point me out as they know who the black car belongs to.

Back to the subject of not wanting to part with the Leon, went and test drove a Passat sport TDI 140 DSG at lunchtime. It was quite a nice refined drive, and I love the gearbox, even if there is a bit of lag for kickdown, but then any auto would be like that. I am not sure if the price for a new one is good value though, as for a couple of grand extra the Lexus IS220d sport looks like a better car. (by the time you add the same option to the Passat the price is almost the same anyway!

I still think that no other car that I have driven so far (that I can feasibly replace the Leon with) actually floats my boat enough to change. Part of this may be the forced limitation to get a car that does 35mpg (for my fuel card) so I am never likely to find a diesel that has the same punch as a 1.8T 275bhp petrol!

That might be a question to all the diesel people out there in sooty land that may have had a LCR before, if say one were to chip a 170TDI DPf would it give so much torque that the acceleration excitment is similar to the petrol?

Got out of my revo'd mk3 Ibiza to test drive a 225 LCR and it felt limp. No turbo kick, completely linear all the way to the red line. Even though it wasn't any slower than the Ibiza, it damn well felt it. Pretty underwhelmed.

Revo'd now and I love it, not as aggressive as the ibiza but it sure flies.<evil grin>

My revo'd LCR felt most impressive one night coming home from a concert, 4 big'ish lads in the car cruising at 140mph and more under the foot.

I'd highly recommend doing the suspension, makes the LCR a great all rounder

;) Funnily enough, I had a 'really lifelike dream' that it was an empty motorwayroad at 2am and I nailed a Porsche Carrera and had the LCR well off the clock. It was so real

Amazing how stable the LCR is at speed. Even at double the speed limit it's stable as fook.

Went out in Mitchy's LCR yesterday. Jabba re-map and nitrous, now that's fast :-o

best car i've ever driven, there are lots of cars out there that are quicker than mine no doubt about it but there arent many that'll embarrass it either. i've had a wee go with a scooby who backed off and a mk5 golf gti who tried it on only to back off when i started to go by him, not too shabby for a three year old car which cost me ten and a half grand with only 21000 on the clock. its so much better than the mk4 golf on which its based on that VW should have test driven it first and told SEAT not to make it. :worship:
