im lookin to buy a cupra. i have £2500. should i be put off by the high 100k milage?. plus how much bhp would i expect to see with a remap there 180bhp standard yes?. is there any faults i should be lookin for when going to buy one please
help me thankyou
100K should be fine as long as it has been properly serviced and cared for - the 1.8T lumps are bomb proof if cared for properly. As for the remap you will get about an extra 35 bhp for under £300.
Common faults are dodgy coil packs, maf failiure and occasionally clutch master cylinders can give up the ghost - but don't let that put you off, I've had mine 2 years now and apart from the master cylinder and just recently a lambda sensor it has never missed a beat, and is by far the best car I have ever owned. I have spent less on this car in terms of faults than any other car (I just wish I could say the same about petrol costs...!).
Also, I will suggest this before anyone else does - the search button is your friend!! There have been many others asking the same questions as you and the answers are on here somewhere. This forum is a goldmine of information.
Buy one - if you get a good example you won't regret it.
