A few ideas

I've had a couple of ideas floating around my head and just wanted to know what opinions of these were.

1: Side skirts and lower front and rear bumpers are looking pretty faded and just old really. I've thought instead of colour coding them, getting them painted plain black. Car is copper, any ideas how this would suit it? I thought this might be ok for a subtle 2 tone effect, but not sure...

2: Alloys: I'm looking at wheels and just really don't have a clue what sort of style to go for. The car has already been lowered, so I'm not going bigger than 16 inch. Also right now thought that if I do go for black painted skirts, black wheels might go with this fairly well (does this 2 colour thing sound like it's worth running with, or should I forget it now!? )

Also, one more: is it possible to fit a Mk3 tailgate and lights pretty much straight on, basically to a mk 3 rear end, or would this be more bother than it's worth?

Bit of a long ramble, but I'm just getting some ideas together, any comments one way or another would be welcome!

i think the 2 tone thing is really down to personal choice really, can't say it sounds good to me as i prefer the colour coded look

as for alloys i think simple 5 spokes work well, personally the alloys from the mk3 cupra look very good on the mk2

my mate owns a mk2 ibiza... wants more power, anyone know of weather a 2.0l 16v conversion is worth the money or just save up for the real thing? cheers

Definitely worth saving up for the real thing. That's what me and Ibiza_95 did. As you can pick the car's up for around 2k mark, and they have better brakes (280mm), Usually half leather interiors and Alarms and immobilisers (plus other electrics) as standard, which the 1.4 beeza probably wont have.

So tell your mate to start saving up the pennies, as its definitely worth it. [B)]

If he wants to do a conversion do the VR6 conversion, Why convert a car that you can buy? plus theres not alot of ibiza VR6`s around, but make sure you upgrade all the other stuff as well brakes etc.... Remember its got to stop as fast as it go`s [B)]

VR6 or a 1.8T conversion it is than. Or he could be the first one in the UK to build a VR6 Ibiza turbo. Now that would be something :drive1:

p.s. sorry, couldn't help but to edit the quote, to make your post easier to read

mk3 rear end change is possible but requires body mods - mainly rear panel and rear 1/4 smalls changed

mk3 front end is more or less bolt on with a few small front panel changes

if you wanna change the motor id go for a 20vt - i wish i had now

if you wanna do all 3 i'd suggest save the time/hassle/money and buy a mk3 anyway :)

Well cheers for the opinions for my stuff anyway. Deffo won't be doing the rear end after hearing what all would need to be done, and after seeing that pic from surcalculation, that's prety much what I was thinking but agreed, just doesn't look as right as it did in my head! I'll probably just scan around the site for a couple other ideas.
