Well almost 2 and a half weeks after dropping the car at the "approved repair center" I got the call to come and pick it up last night. Dropped the hire car off first thing this morning and then went to get my car. After 16 days with my car they still managed to make a complete horse's arse of it.
The colour match looked ok as far as I could see, the car was indoors in a poorly lit room. However there were a number of bits where it appeared almost that there was white bits of plastic sticking up through the paintwork, these felt rough to the touch. There were also a number of patches where the finish was the same colour but the texture was like orange peel.
I was (still am) fuming about this, told them no way was I accepting it like that, it looked worse than when I left it with them and at that point it had just been crashed into. They said "oh that'll polish out, gimme five minutes" and took the car into the workshop again, then the guy came out and sheepishly admitted that they'd tried polishing it and they'd cut right through the paint so they'd have to do it all again. He said "i'll try and have it ready tomorrow for you" so I'll give them until 5pm tomorrow then I'm complaining to my insurer.

Having the exact same problems. They have had my car 3 weeks now and the match is an absolute joke. They took it back in and now cant find a tint that will match my car. I am about to complain to both my insurer and also the girls insurer who hit me.
Hopefully you get it back tomorrow. I have been told i am getting it the next day since Friday last week.....
