80's hot hatch driving experience

My 420 had Koni adjustables and polybushes, it really helped the handling, I managed to almost totally dial out the understeer. Gearboxes were the weakness though, I did manage to break 2, but it was still a great fun car.

My first car was a 1989 XR2 (no i) followed by a 1992 XR3i. Did loads to the XR2 because bits were always going wrong with or falling off it. I had it dyno tuned (using spanners and screwdrivers, not a laptop!) once and it made 88 bhp at the wheels which wasn't bad as the standard car was 88 bhp at the fly. Also had 130W spotlamps on the front.
