So here lies my old car, which i still own but my younger brother is driving.
This hot 50ker was the best second car anyone has ever had. And has started my love for SEAT's.
I bought it completely stock with 43k on the clock. Shiny and a relative Bentley for me.
(Pictured here with my dad's pride and joy an hour after purchase)
7k later and it was time for me to move on, but that is another RR thread entirely
Over the 8 months i had the car i replaced and serviced multiple parts: Cambelt and discs/pads at 50k, oil and filters at 45k ( more for the exercise than out of necessity).
I also crashed it once (15mph)
...
It was back on the road three weeks later with new headlights, new radiator, new grille, new crashbar and a re-shaped bonnet. Somehow the Bumper and fogs survived!
Then the modding began, first up were standard issue essex boy stickers. Then i had my stock alloys powder coated anthracite grey and got some new centre caps from Amazon
In my opinion a subtle but effective visual tweak! While the wheels were away i yellowed up the calipers and blacked up the drums.
Dean @ Pipecraft in Basildon is some kind of Exhaust magician and he sorted me out with a new stainless back box and joining pipe. The car went from the no exhaust eco-look with no noticeable sound to a mean looking throaty M3 soundalike!
It's a solid car which although looks and sounds like a proper modded car, is mostly stock , cheap to insure and was as good on petrol as an engine as old as the BXW can be! I loved it and still do, although my new wheels are some hot contenders!
