My Leon tdi 130 is due for it's 60 thou service, within the next month.

Question:-
What does this consist of and roughly how much should I expect to pay ? (just a ballpark figure will do).:help:

Unless your car has had its timing belt, water pump and tensioner done you 'should' really get this done £350 (this is for petrol cars not sure about diesel)
For your service it will tell you in your service manual what needs done for this

It's not 'due' till 120,000 miles BUT
If it goes then your looking at a minimum bill of £1,000 Thats the bare minimum!!
The belt is not the problem its the water pump and bearings that cause the problem, if these go its bascially the same as the timing belt snapping.
i.e not good:cry:

Book says timing belt should be done at 60,000 for the diesel engines so time to get the work done unfortunately.
Better than a big repair bill if it fails though.

I read somewhere that it should be 60,000 for early '03 and 80,000 for late '03, but not sure why. My Leon is late '03.

If your a betting man then go for it
It's a gamble that some think it is worth taking........

The way I drive the car and the length of journies I do occasionly, I think I will go for the former rather than the latter....

Just had my 60k service done last week. Normal Inspection service + cambelt change and brakefluid change. Left me with a bill for £624. Had budgeted somewhere near that but didnt think it would have been that much. £178 in parts and £360 for labour and the rest went to Gordon Brown..ouch..!

aye inspect condition at 60k, change at 120k
but as said chances of it snapping/water pump failing from 60k up are greater than sub 60k. Mine has odd service intervals now due to low mileage (my 60k service will be at 52k miles etc etc)

so you DO drive it like you stole it.........;)

When I bought the car the salesman said, and I quote. " drive it like a petrol....". So I do. :funk:

BTW, I've noticed your location being in the Darkness, so are you Justin Hawkin's replacement ? :p
