I'm sorry if you got offended by that MagicFR i was just feeling a bit mischeivous. no hard feelings. As for me being unhelpful i think you'll find that your incorrect i have this particular braking system fitted, and i was iirc the first member to have this fitted to an Fr. i have over sixteen hundred posts to my name, Most of them Usefull information, some of them entertaining and a select few not usefull in the slightist. i would suggest when you decide to make your snap judgements at people you first take into concidration my loylty to seatcupra.net.

:wtf: do you know what your talking about?
you need to change the discs, pads, calipers and maybe the hoses but the hoses should be ok

Hate to burst your bubble young fella but MagicFR is 100% correct. you can indeed use your standard calipers and pads. All you technically need is the carriers and discs!

I left my camera at my parent house which is on an island on the west coast of Scotland. They will be out in about 1 week and I can take some photos then for you.

It ties in quite handy too cos Im buying an Alpine MRD-M1005 1000w RMS amp and an Alpine SWX-1242d 1000w RMS sub tomorrow. Im so excited cos the sub and amp I have in my car just now has been borrowed from my brother and its pathetic!

Well they must have changed on some newer models.

On the Sports at least, carriers AND calipers are definitely required, the calipers were totally different on mine.

As for the sarcasm and narky replies above, this is supposed to be a friendly and helpful site, lets not start the downhill slide :(

Only difference between our cars is that mine is an import-could be the reason

Ah well...who cares really!!

No Steven, i havent cracked them!! As it was pointed out to you at the last Gti meet....cross drilled discs are a much better performance disc. Remeber...these arent black diamond crap!!

Have to agree with Lee there, they were different on my 03 Sport too with the TT calipers being much bigger.

And as to the narky replies... they will stop and be less abusive or you may find your posts moderated in future.

Im not really sure what you mean here when referring to the PD100. I have the 2004 PD100 and I had enquired before about brake upgrades on the front and was told I would need a whole new pair of hubs as I have some integrated thing going on. Do I still need to do all of that if I want huge brakes then? It is something I really want to do as my brakes are truly dangerous as they heat up and stop working very very quickly since I bought Brembo Max front discs and ridiculous Mintex pads.

Anyone with a PD100 actually done this upgrade? Cost approx?

Try the DS2500 pads from Badger Bill first before spending loads on new hubs, etc and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Ok Im in the process of doing/ maybe not doing this. To get bigger brakes ie 312mm discs you will need new hubs from the 130PD because the carrier is built into the hub!

But the FS111 calipers you have can be used again, these are the same calipers you would use in the 312 setup!

But as mrcoyote said you could just change the pads as this will be the same as in the 312 setup!

So if you want the 312mm setup or more you will need new hubs from the 130PD no matter what, also carriers and new discs!

That prob reads crap but I know whats you need to do in my head. Any questions just ask!

Also when you where looking did you come across any upgraded 256 front discs? I
