I cant find any explanation as to how you get the rear panel off of a 3 door . could someone please point me in the right direction.
I have just about finnished building a new MDF rear parcel shelf with a pair of pioneer 6*9 's (TS-A6921) in an i need to get at the rear speaker wiring to extend it back to my new speakers.
I have already fitted new pioneer head unit DEH-P7000UB and ordered a 8Gb usb stick . I need to get a steering wheel wiring adapter if anyone has any info that would be welcome too . Oh the head unit is fab BTW :D

worked lol.
ok so here is what i have done and used . The MDF is standard 18mm sheet from wickses cost me 9 quid. The two extra bits in the corners on top are holding the hinges ( used the original ones ) but the offset in hight fits the 18 mm perfectly.

can see them in top corner.

The back edge is a good 50mm higher than the back seat so i put a strip on the back edge to fill the gap.
I set out to make a stealth type shelf so i have mounted my speakers below the shelf and will cover with cloth afterwards so you wont se them from outside the car.

I have fitted the pioneer head unit already but my 8 gig usb stick came this morning :funk: took over 120 albums.

As for the rear panels well there not to bad really. you need to take the little rear top panel that holds the seat belt off well not off but undo them so you can get the panel past them. there held on with 3 screws see next post.

as for the panel well it has two plastic type nuts which are only finger tight.

you just pull after that and suprising how hard you have to as well but there are just plastic lugs behind it hoiding it on .

Only had to get at the wiring so was a little easier for me lol. Hope that helps someone else out at some point.

A number of people of here have made their own adaptors out of MDF for the rear 1/4, I remember reading somewhere that it is possible to even fit a slim 8 inch subwoofer in there, along with the normal component/6x9 speakers etc.
If you search it will be there somewhere

Matt, stealth shelf looking good. Look forward to seeing pics of the finished article.

Gonna bookmark this thread as the photos showing location of the fastners will come in handy if I ever need to pull the panel off my car. Might upgrade my speakers one day, but don't have the skill to make an MDF adapter.

i want your boot light....

See this thread http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=1918188#post1918188 and the threads I linked to there. Easy mod once you know how and have the SEAT parts.
