That a pretty big tyre! I very much doubt you could run these problem free, especially if lowered at all. I had 225/40s on for exactly 20 mins. It made the car pretty undrivable. Ok on the rear but the fronts just wouldnt turn!

Im running 215s on the front with no problems but they are pretty low profile. 225s are pretty much a no-no without arch work.

Thanks for responses, shame I will have to get new tyres for the spiders. A bargain at 200 though would you agree?

I bought my Cupra alloys with 225/45/17 tyres on, and had the wheels on for about half an hour. Wayyy too big and rubbed the arches even on a minor turn.

205/40/17 is what you need.

So they are Leon FR+ wheels? That is Leon size tyre.

I'm on 215 45 17 still too big.

I wouldnt go more than 215 40 or 205 45 on 17's on these ibizas.

You can always flog the tyres depending on the condition. I sold the 225/45/17 that came with mine for £140 for the set which paid for almost half the price of the alloys :)

did you standard bolts fit the spiders ?

torn between prorace 1.2's with a bit of road rash on one wheel or vrs spiders with no tyres

Ooohh tough choice! The Ibiza and the Fabia are basically identical.. the alloys will definitely fit with standard bolts.

Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2's will evidently be quite a bit lighter than the vRS alloys so make handling a bit better, but I think the vRS alloys have a bit more substance to them, and look nice and aggressive? Check out Aimez's readers ride, as she had an Ibiza with spiders :)

I hope she doesn't mind me putting up her picture..
