Just a thought.....

I think it's a clever marketing trick by Seat with the wheels. By offering the old Cupra alloys (Orion) they know this will attract current FR owners especially in black. They also seem to have chosen the most boring upgrade 18'' at a far cheaper price whilst hoping/knowing most will go for the Orion's at a more expensive rate.

Given the fact the current Cupra uses them I'm sure the profit margin on these is massive.

I would have them if I were to go with the facelight, so it must be working Seat.

What spec you gone for?

Getting the 18 Ibera wheels and Bluetooth. I wanted the convenience pack but no cars available in the uk with this and a factory order would have been too long to wait. It's going to be a bit more relaxing than my current Type R GT

Post some pics up as soon as you can...

Be nice to see some real pictures of a facelift model in a colour other than white or orange!

The new CR is a lot quieter and smoother than the old PD engine. I've only done 200 miles since I picked it up but I'm well impressed. Visibility out the back is slightly improved but there is still the issue of the A-Pillars at the front.
Spec wise, the steering wheel controls aren't as user friendly as my old Sport, as in you've got to select the CD/AUX/USB/RADIO input from the stereo as opposed to the steering wheel.
The boot has unfortunately got the full size spare wheel which intrudes on the boot space, which isn't exactly brilliant.
The seats are a lot better and come with a smaller seat on the drivers side and the materials used seem to be of a better quality.
The size of the mirrors takes a bit of getting used to but the visibility is much improved.

On the whole I've got no complaints and I love the colour. I've still yet to see another in the same colour so it really stands out.:D

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that there is a more pronounced difference in the seat heights when the driver's seat is at it's lowest setting. Having said that though, noticed today that the passenger seat also has height adjust, so it's not an issue.

Yuk ! (I feel quite ill !)
No offence to owners of the new model, but I just don't think it's as beautiful as the Mk2 original.
It smacks of change for marketing (NEW !) reasons, those front and rear lights make it look like a Renault !
I will be sticking with the existing model, thanks. :D

Each to their own, I like the facelift more than the original mk2, but I'm still a mk1 man through and through :p Shame I don't have a 2.0 tfsi though i must admit, heard those diffs are supposed to be pretty clever too

If it wasn't for DanGB I wouldn't fancy a mk2 at all ;)

Here's a couple of shots of Bristol SEAT's demo mk2 taken at the Autometrix Track Day.
Nice spec, Speed Blue with Black Orions, nav, xenons and parking sensors. Keep that in mind when you see the price ticket in the screen! If only it was the right price

I have had a good drive in the Bristol demonstrator (a bit on town driving and a run down the M32).

Very nice, smoother and quieter and the "old" car. But possibly a little more turbo lag than old car too.

I told the salesman about the prices available from Seatcarsdirect and the look on his face said it all. :D

They also currently have a 58 plate FR TDI for sale, £16100.
