I paid £2200 for mine standard with 80k on the clock, also a 2.0 8v. ( R plate )
The first thing i noticed was the gearbox and how heavy the clutch was to my old corsa diesel!

Worth noting that the gearbox linkage does get stiff if the car is not being used fairly regularly. My car has been laid up for most of the last year whilst i've been working overseas. They do loosen up a bit with use, but it's probably better to have the linkage apart, check the state of the bushes, replace where necessary and lubricate the linkage once rebuilt. Made a world of difference to mine...

The clutch and gearbox are very heavy anyway mate, and they are pretty noisy with standard exhaust.

I had a 99 8v cupra that is now back with parents and being prepared ready to be given to my older sister (is that fair? think not!!)

Anyway, the point I am getting to is that it's been stood for a while and the gear linkage has gone very stiff. Am hoping it will loosen off when it's used more though.

Never had the heavy clutch though, always felt very light although I did used to have a Clio!!!!
No need to worry about the MPG

lol Renault now that is a heavy clutch :p i find mine firm but not overly heavy (also ex Renault) but certainly amongst one of the heavier of cars for pedal - one of the downsides of converting a hydraulic clutch to a cable - why they never left it as hydraulic i dont know

mpg once warm just pull the 1/2 all the way and hold it - resets it and gives a truer figure but at best its just a guide really

if an ibiza clutch starts getting lighter/crunchier its a sign the pedal box is splittting but needless to say a new £30 odd cable will help if its done a few miles
