alright guys, some of you may know i'm currently putting in a 2.0 16v into my mk2 golf GTI.
i'm have a few problems as i dont have the donor car.
i was just wondering if there was anybody with an ibiza GTI 16v around the glasgow area, so i could take a look at the engine bay.
would be greatly appreciated!
cheers

Do you mean, there's a red plug around the fuel pump area that is spare??

The red plugs in that area are:

- Handbrake warning
- Driver's seatbelt warning
- And the door opening sensors (plug into the middle of the b-pillar

The fuel pump plug is singular, black and oval shaped.

Do you have the matching key, transponder and ECU from the donor car?
If it's 96 on and you don't have all these, the immobiliser might be cutting in - not sure how the standard system works and what it blocks off though...

Is it just the fuel pump not getting power? There is a multiple earthing panel with ports for around 12 plugs that bolts to the bulkhead near the fuse box on the righthand side. Have you connected all the brown plugs into one of these ports?? It's very easy to miss some, so check this out as it could be your problem...

Next question, do you have just the engine bay loom for the ABF or have you collected the lot from the donor car - ie, you're using the Seat fuel pump plug etc etc, and not the Mk2 one?

Finally, is your car a later Digifant model or a K-jet one? If it's the K-jet, the swap is going to be a lot more difficult if you don't have a total donor car
