i read an article in what car or some other general mag, they rang round a load of local vag garages and got the service for a seat done at a skoda dealership for just above £100 they also recomended things like taking your own oil cause its cheaper etc.. One guy even recommended having your car service at the time of a driving holiday in France as they are really cheap abroad. Not that its the most practical of options.

I found out that these guys are just 5 mins up the road from me:http://www.justvwaudi.co.uk/

They are doing the service Monday for £99 plus VAT (beat that mr SEAT stealer) with free valet and courtesy car.

well glad I shopped around!:D

they also do remaps but what use would one of those be to me!?

I'll let you know if all went well and if i recommend them or not afterwards!

your all so stupid!! why paya dealer! pay a VAT registered garage (nto your mate derek ) and ask them to use official seat parts i had my 18 k service done should have been nearly 200 quid from the fookin dealers my local VAT reg garage did it for... wait for it..... 80 quid. and i would trust him (has been doind it 40 years ) a lot more than the dealers fresh out of college lot.

*** my thought

not sure what to do with my 1st service.

i want to take it to Skoda but would love to pay less money and go to a local garage. thing that puts me off is i may sell the car this summer, are people really bothered anymore about where its been serviced?

Now mine has vw audi stamps in it it might be MORE appealing to joe bloggs?

In answer to krustee's question, I asked them and they are just local i'm afraid.

I would recommend them to any one in the Nuneaton/Cov area who doesn't want to pay SEAT prices. All work was done in a few hours and i got a Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI as a courtesy car, makes me want a Derv more now as the MPG never went below 38.

As long as there is a stamp and an invoice (I always keep the invoices as proof) wouldn't bother me in the slightest. As long as the ad says FSH then i'm game. Having a FSSH doesn't add much these days tbh. Certainly not enough to warrant the difference in price you pay between a decent indy and the stealer,

Mine's going to be done at the dealers where i bought mine, first year service they quoted £180, i thought, nah that can't be right...can you check again then he came up with £90 inc vat...i said oh yes that sounds about right, can you book me in. She goes in at the end of May!

Thats a good strategy! tell the "erm.. no, you're wrong. Thats way too expensive"

Lol no I just said, well that seems rather expensive, can you double check that...by the look of my face I think he knew I wasn't kidding! I also then asked the Sales Manager (my mate) to check he said, argh well he's new, best get him to double check...So i did, and he halved the price! ta da :cartman:

Maybe tho, if I used the Jedi mind invasion :) maybe he would of halved it again, £45 hehehe :cartman:
