1st gear shudder but only when cold

I get this weird problem when the engine is cold every morning.

As I pull away the car shudders once, kind of on the biting point, and then all is fine.

It only happens in first (ive tried pulling away in second and thats fine) and it only happens when the engine is cold.

It feels like the whole engine moves but i dont think the revs change so i think it might be the gearbox or clutch.

Any ideas what this could be?

Its an FR TDi 2006 btw

i get that to its as tho you hang on to the clutch pedal longer to take up drive and as you say when cold and only in first,

be nice to find out if its [heradatory] on all seats excuse spelling if wrong

hopefully its just a quirk rather than anything serious then
