I think people get a little bit hung up on the details on here. Ok, so there could be very slight differences in acceleration because the wheel is 0.2 inches bigger. Does it really matter on the road? No. Especially not on a 1.6 that isn't setting the world alight. And saying that bigger wheels contradicts a re-map is just silly. If a remap adds 30bhp, even if you said the difference in final drive gearing was the equivilent of a 5bhp loss (which is very generous), you would still be up on the deal!

They will look good, but the bit where they will be noticeable is the ride. It will no doubt be a lot stiffer and more 'crashy' thanks to very shallow, stiff side walls. Add in extra cost for tyres etc. I personally would go 18" max for this reason alone - its a reasonable compromise in my opinion.

i would say to a certain extent that smaller wheels should help your handling as you will lower your centre of gravity

Why not do away with the wheels entirely... Then you'll have a much lower center of gravity and you have the smallest change to your gearing possible... :help:

Agree completely. Just do it, if you want 19's get them. Yes the ride will be a bit harsher, but your handling wont be effected.

if the wheels are going dirt cheap then buy it and try them on for about 500 miles or so, and if its your cup of tea then keep it.
otherwise flogg it.
but in my own personal opinion 19 inch is not practical at all.
it will probably give you alot of street cred but its your choice.
its most likely to foul your suspension because of the offset unless you use spacers.
N.B. if you buy them and then later on decide to flogg them, try to target SUBARU IMPREZA guys.
THe offset on these alloys are well suited to SUBARUS IMPREZA
