18" Spare wheel needed

I bought my LCR225 and after realising the previous owner had written off the spare wheel without me noticing, I despirately need a new 18" rim.

It wasn't until yesterday when I finally got a puncture I need one quicker than I thought I would!!!

I have been keeping my eyes on fleBay, there is one bent one someone is trying to flog, but I am not too bothered about that!!

The Seat dealers have quoted £300 for a new one!!!

Does anyone know if Seat manufactured a full size spare in steel instead of alloy? I think they did an 18" spacesaver, but again I am not bothered about one of those!!! It has to be 18" to fit over the front Brembos!!

Also - if anyone has a spare to sell, I will offer good money for it. I don't need the tyre, just the rim.

you could for the mean time get away with a smaller spare.

idea being if you get a puncture on a front wheel.

take spare from boot

jack up back of car, remove good wheel, put spare on.

now jack up front of car, put on good wheel from the back.

put punctured wheel in boot.

may do for you as a temp measure

an 18inch space saver will not fit over the Brembo's so you will need a full size alloy to fit....

I found someone on here who sold me their second spare for £100 with tyre and two well warn tyres for track days. Just keep trying mate.

Ah right - wasn't aware an 18" spacesaver wouldn't fit over the Brembos - cheers.

With regards to the smaller wheel - good interim solution but a lot of farting about. Thanks for your replies though.

Do Seat / VAG manufacture an 18" steel? Anyone know, I guess they may do as 18's are becomming quite common throughout the VAG range now.

Sorry mate didn't finish reading your post before I started to reply....

I don't think they make an 18" that would fit but knowing VAG they would charge you just as much as for the alloy. I could loan you one till you find a spare?

Thanks for the offer - especially with you being so close to me. I have the wheel in my bird's car boot which I borrowed today - taking it for a new tyre straight after work today! Luckily step-bro works at BMW in Chesterfield and aquires tyres FOC for me as they are exactly same size as on front of 3 Series Sports!!
