150FR Coolant Level Sensor Problem

Hi,

I have an on going problem, where on cold mornings when I start the car, I get the coolant level light flashing and 3 beeps.

My local Seat garage, have changed the coolant temperature sensor, and the level sensor, but the problem still occurs.

Surely there cannot be many things at fault, as the level sensor must be connected directly to the ECU????

Has anyone else had this problem or know of anyone that did.

I am running out of patience with my local Seat garage as they kindly damage my car further every time they look at it, but I would like to get the problem sorted whilst under warranty.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Have had the same problem, only when parked outside house facing up hill, (odd) just make sure the the expansion bottle is full to max, this seams to stop the fault (top up with anti freeze not water so there is a strong mix in the bottle)

A search on here would have yielded 1million results as this has been discussed time and time again and your fault could have been diagnosed in seconds.

You need to change your expansion tank to get rid of the fault, the sensor is not to blame and the garage should know fine well as it is a very common fault.

Expansion tank costs around £12 and takes 10 mins to replace.

Thanks Guys,

Mitchy, they have replaced the expansion tank, the problem stopped for 3 weeks but has now started again.

I had done a search on the forum, and as you say all evidence points to the expansion tank, but here I am again with the same fault.

Barlows in Wolverhampton seem to have less knowledge than I have, absolutley clueless. I wish I had an alternative dealer to use.
