110 or 130 TDI? Which one

I paid £4700 for mine with 62K, FSH, 1 owner and lots of recepts from a Seat dealer in december, with 12 months warranty, and a year MOT and tax.
oh yea tax is only £120 a year!

tax is the same on the fr too lol

can't comment on the cars as i have not driven either only my fr, i don't find i have to change gear that often myself but no idea if the ratios are the same as the 130 or not. but i can get over 60mpg if i try and struggle to get below about 53mpg most of the time so i would think economy is not really an issue on either
 
i got a 51-plate 110 TDi, and love it, plenty of poke, stick it in 3rd and it just keeps going...

I had to get a new MAF at 98k, and that's the only problem I have had in the 5k i have done in it.

Did a lot of m-way driving this tank full, and still got 1/4 a tank left and on 447.8 miles this fill up, with 4 adults, a boot full of subwoofer and clothes, and that was doing some oh sh!t we are late speeds....

I went for a 130 and the engine is great with around 70lb/ft more torque than the 110. My 45 mile commute is on slow A roads and the overtaking stomp is brilliant, really good surge from 40mph. I'm impatient and the car still returns low 50's to the gallon (600miles to a tank). As for the 6 gears mine does 70mph at 2000revs in 6th and 60mph at 2000revs in 5th, Don't know what the 110's, can't imagine it's that high as mine doesn't like to pull in 6th till 50mph (1300revs) but is happy in 5th from 35. I bought my July '04 car 14 months ago from the leasing company for £5000 with 104k on it. Now it's over 130k. The 130 is a good choice if you can afford it.

ok thanks everyone, so looks like a 110 will be fine for us then which is a bonus.

Right i'm on the hunt now, if any one knows any good 110's for around the 5k to 6k region near Southampton let me know!

come back next year and you could have bought mine!!!

i has a remap too :(

ah too late! Is high milage an issue on these aslong as the cambelt etc has been done?

i have seen a few below 4K that have about 100K on the clock and its putting me off. Even seen a few MK2's for around the 5-6K mark with the same milage.

I'm not like you guys...
Dont be put off by "high milers" (if been serviced regularly) but also be aware of "clocked" cars, as it is fairly easy to do. ie. steer clear of no MOT's with car, or S/H

Other than that, I have a car that has done 106k genuine miles, and not one bit of trouble,
(apart from maf sensor, [just needs cleaning!] and a tensioner gave up the ghost and broke the alternator - wear and tear)
and she never misses a beat.

I'm on 140k now and the engine runs perfectly with no abnormal noises, smooth acceleration and power, and i get between 500-560 miles per tank (not including the 5-7 litres reserve or whatever). As long as it has a good genuine service history you're fine. Mileage/life expectancy on diesels is at least double petrols. I would rate a good condition well serviced high miler far above a low mileage example of dubious history.

My '04 130 has 130000 miles now, 25000 with me in the last year, 600miles to a tank and no oil needed between 10000 mile services and nothing else. Regular good servicing saw my Dad's 2lit petrol Renault 21 up to 325000 miles on original engine and box. So look to history and condition, not just the miles - these cars were bought by people who used them.

i have a 130 and its been an amazing car only started to go wrong when i put a TD turbo on it but for the first45k it was fautless!!
the 6th gear is nice and does make the car quieter on the motorway runs then the 110 but both cars are eco an cheap to tax and with a map fairly nippy

500-560? Wow. Never seen 500 in mine. Normally fill up at between a quarter and an eighth of a tank left and typically between 400-450. I do a lot of motorway miles but I do have a heavy right foot tbh. Consumption does seem to be getting better in the better weather though - I thought it was going to be the other way round!

if the new tax rules go through i think its going down isnt it?

I'm tempted to sell mine, I do fancy a new one.

I've got a 51 plate 110. bought it Jan 08, on 16500 miles. Currently on 45k ish. Love it but just fancy something a bit quicker lol.
