1.9tdi Brake conversion ABS issues.

Hi All,

I had some ABS issues on my car, a 2007 1.9tdi ibiza.
I purchased from someone at work, but knowing he had made some mods, larger intercooler, cat delete, EGR delete and adjustable struts.
After sorting some gearbox issues and a few bits, I have implausable signal from both front ABS sensors, and no speedo. Through the help of members I believe the speedo takes data from F/N/S abs sensor, so not concerned about this until ABS sorted.
I have learned that the car has been fitted with Golf GTi mkIV front hubs and discs, and is therefore fitted with the ABS sensor from the golf.
Is there a way to use the Golf sensor data?
I also wondered if an Ibiza sensor would work with the Golf ABS ring if I can find a way to position it, or should I just replace struts with scrapyard ones from correct model, I don't need this to be performance as its for my son learning to drive.

Thanks, I will try one new golf sensor on the LHS, (the fitted ones do look intact, and plugs seem to fit sensor ok, with wires soldered) and see if it makes a difference. If not i will just change struts.
Will update results when done, its just parked at the moment as I have moved to Manchester, so getting settled in priority.

Update, I have swapped both front struts back to fabia with std braking equipment and abs sensors, all is now well with abs and Speedo.
This means I have the ones I took off as per picks, I believe they are mk4 golf but not certain.
I am in manchester, are these worth anything to anyone?
Coil overs and large discs and callipers.
