Hello, sorry if this gets asked often

Looking to get my MK3 Facelift 1.8 FR (SC 3-door) stage 1 mapped and was curious to see what other people went with and some recommendations.

A few places near me do RacingLine and APR tunes and they seem quiet popular, as well as some others that do custom tunes like JF Automotive and Phantom Tuning. I also plan to get a R600 Intake w/ Turbo Muffler Delete and Inlet Pipe as I like the sound of them. I know its not required for Stage 1, but is it worth getting this first before taking it to get mapped?

Any feedback is appreciated, South East England based

Vehicle Details:
2017 MK3.5 Leon FR (3 door SC)
1.8TSI Manual
Completely stock aside from Aero Kit
Nearly at 60,000 miles

Definitely worth getting the intake before having it mapped.

Bit of a trek from you, but my go to is always H-Sport in Bath.

They did my S3 and the difference was amazing

Full custom map, not an off the shelf flash all

Yeah defo a bit of a journey, I'm Kent based.

As much as I'd like the convenience of getting a home flash kit and doing it myself, I'd rather take it to a dealer and get it done properly like you have. Plus its custom

Thanks, I have a look at H-Sport as well anyway

That's mad 👌. But yeah not looking to do anything too crazy, stage 1 + intake is enough for me but I will look into the intercooler pipe. Does it have a specific name or is it literally just an intercooler pipe?

Thats the creation kit cheapest option the ecs kit is twice the privmce from awsome but if u go on ecs tunnings website u can buy that one pipe for around same price as the full kit from creation

Although I am all for upgrading parts, a stage 1 means a tune applicable for a 100% stock car, just saying :)

It never hurts to add supporting mods, but to get the most out of them you will need a custom tune anyway.
Yeah, I just like intakes for the sound 😂 but was just curious if it was worth getting it before or after. Thanks, I'm going to get a price from a few places and see what they offer

Your not wrong mate the little mods will help like u say the mapper has to custom tune for the benefit tho be the bits i said if i was doin stage one but ther not needed what so ever

Fir sound u want open air filter the r600 is closed prob best for performance but they dont sound to loud my mate has one they sound way better than stock one thing about the r600 is the filter can fall apart its shocking for the price u pay unless they have revised the filter now its was a known issue

Was going to go with R600 as it seems the most "performant" and OEM+ but at that price it doesn't seem to be much diffferent than others with what I want out of it. Did look at 034Motorsport but that has an SAI which isn't compatible with EU Models, APR and MST I've got my eyes on but the Ramair one looks cheap and nasty imo.

Honestly debating to spend £700-£800 on the R600 Bundle and get everything in one, but might get an APR Intake with induction hose + Vagsport inlet and muffler delete where I'll get near enough same result for a bit cheaper. Havent seen much difference in inlets and muffler deletes apart from the brand and price so
