Just picked up my car from the garage after having the timing belt done.

I bought the kit prior to the install from a part number he gave me, the mechanic has informed the tensioner in the kit was different to the one on the car but still fitted it as it was late on in the day :(

The Part number he fitted was 06B109243F looking around the net this is for the Audi TT and possibly the MK3 1.8T

The mechanic is sure it should be ok although it did tension different. The one for my car should have had a shim where this one should have been with a pin.

The car starts and sounds ok, as it did before but I am highly concerned it isn't the right tensioner I may have issues later on. I am tempted to get the whole job done at a specialist.

possibly save me right trying to save a few ££.

Does anyone confirm if this tensioner will be ok if installed in my car.
