1.8T help (a little off topic)

My dad has a TT with the 180bhp 1.8T engine, recently it has been running lumpy, especially at high revs where the whole car will shudder, performance has had a notable decrease too, I told him I thought it was probably the maf, but the took it to a local garage who put it through vagcom and couldn't find anything wrong with it, tbh I still think it's the maf, but don't want him to waste money getting it replaced if I'm wrong. There are no other problems with the car, aside from the dashpod being replaced a few weeks ago, but that's a different story. I know this is a little off topic I could've posted it in the audi section, but it's quieter there and you guys know you're stuff so I thought I'd ask you for advice, cheers!

Cheers guys, forgot to say as well, it seems to take ages for the engine to get up to temp, don't know if that's related or not.

And would a dodgy coilpack make the engine management light come on? So far it hasn't.

it could have a dodgy engine temp sensor, not to be confused with the coolant temp sensor

this can make the engine run funny as it alters the fuling if it thinks the engine is still cold

Quick update, finally got vagcom attached, turns out it was a boost leak, he's getting it sorted on thursday. Cheers for the help.
