SEARCH search search lol.. yeh theres a couple on here running 20vt mk2's. you might also find posting in the mk3 section a help to.

as i understand it, 20vt has similarites to a valver. so yours being a Gti is probably an advantage, or you could buy a fake dump valve and buy a badge for about £3 :cartman:

I'm fitting an omex setup but there wiring diagrams aint very good and you still need the engine loom, or you can get an mbe ecu from qpeng and send them the loom for modifying which is prob the easiest in my opinion and you will also have a fully programmable ecu, i got the wiring diagrams for the engine from a local car electrics place, i should be able to find them and send you a copy if you like? pm me

how much does it cost for a 1.8 t 20v engine and all the stuff you need to do a straight swap?

also, do you have problem with insurance companies insuring you and how much does the insurance cost go up?

my engine cost £900 with engine loom, turbo, down pipe, but on top of that you will need car loom, clocks, and locks for a straight swap, prob best looking for a whole car that has been written off and doing it that way,

I paid £1350 for a written off Mk3 20vt. Roly and myself used the whole loom, labelling everything up as we removed it from the Mk3.

We put the loom in first before putting the engine in as it was easier to get through the bulkhead.

Try Greenlight for insurance, they were the cheapest by far for me.
